Napredni kurs digitalizacije podvodne kulturne baštine u Herceg Novom

Napredni kurs digitalizacije podvodne kulturne baštine u Herceg Novom

Advanced Course on Digitization of Underwater Cultural Heritage in Herceg Novi

The CREAMARE Project aims to create a trans-national and cross-sectorial collaboration framework in which cultural, scientific, and research institutions, creative professionals, and IT experts will jointly create applications and digital products for the promotion and preservation of underwater cultural heritage. Additionally, the project seeks to raise awareness about significant social issues, such as pollution and other threats affecting oceans and seas.

As part of the CREAMARE project, which is co-financed through the Creative Europe program, the Italian company 3D Research SLR and the team from the Laboratory for Maritime Archaeology, University of Montenegro, are organizing an advanced course on underwater 3D photogrammetry and digitization of underwater cultural heritage in Herceg Novi.

The course will be held from May 20th to 25th and offers a unique opportunity for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and the acquisition of advanced skills in this field. Participants will have the chance to learn the latest advanced methods and technologies for the digitization of underwater archaeological sites and data processing. The course is designed to provide practical experience in a real-world setting, contributing to a better understanding and preservation of underwater cultural heritage. This knowledge will be crucial for future projects of digitization and preservation of underwater heritage, allowing it to be presented to the public in an interactive and educational way.

The Laboratory for Maritime Archaeology is participating in the CREAMARE project through the already created 3D model of the steamboat Tihany, which will be integrated into a serious video game. This game aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving underwater cultural heritage and ocean health. Through such initiatives, the project demonstrates how the creative industry and cultural sector can collaborate innovatively. The video game will be premiered to the Montenegrin public at the end of the project.
